I painted this after my trip to India—she carries the energy of that place. Confident, adorned, unapologetically radiant.
She’s wearing fresh marigolds around her neck, like the ones handed to me when I arrived. I’ll never forget the scent, the ceremony, the sheer color of it all. Her oversized sunglasses give her that jet-set mystery. The kind of woman who knows her worth and isn’t afraid to be seen.
There’s a lot of soul in this one. It came together quickly, layered with gouache, charcoal, and that thick-lined boldness I reach for when I feel most alive.
