Alexa
I drew this about ten years ago, during one of those seasons where I wanted to be making art but couldn’t seem to carve out the time.
This piece reminds me that I never really lost my hand. It came out fast, with confidence and motion—just the way I like it.
It was inspired by Alexa Chung, the model and actress, who always had that cool-girl edge. She’s wearing a gray screen-printed sweatshirt that I actually owned at the time—and I still wish I’d kept it.
There’s great energy in this one. Sometimes I look back and think, I was already on my way back to art—I just didn’t know it yet.
