The Language Beneath the Work
Astrology moves through everything Heather Jennings creates.
It shapes her paintings and custom commissions, structures her card deck -The Trauma-Informed Lens- and deepens the trauma-informed design work at the heart of her studio.
For Heather, design, art, and astrology form one practice: three languages for a single question: “What helps a person feel safe in their own body?”
How It Began
A breast cancer diagnosis became the turning point. Treatment and recovery returned Heather to the roots of her practice: painting, journaling, ritual, and reflection. She learned to listen to her own body, to read its cycles and honor its timing. She learned what it means to need a room that gives you the feeling of safety and care.
After treatment, she traveled to India and studied astrology, yoga, journaling, Ayurveda, and Vastu alongside people who became lifelong friends. Those studies continue today. She went to keep healing. She came home with a framework and the beginnings of Heather Jennings Lifestyle.
What Is Medical Astrology?
Medical astrology is the oldest branch of the practice, the study of how celestial cycles correspond to the body and its wellbeing. For centuries, European physicians studied it alongside anatomy and pharmacy, and were expected to read a chart as readily as a pulse. At its heart sits a claim that modern wellness keeps rediscovering: the body, its environment, and its rhythms move together, and healing requires attention to all three.
That claim is the bridge across Heather's work. In wellness, it means listening to the body's cycles. In design, it means building spaces that answer what the nervous system needs. In art, it supplies a vocabulary of planets, elements, and cycles that become color and line on canvas and in the cards of the Trauma-Informed Lens.
Where It Lives Now
The language is visible across her work today. It appears in astrology-inspired paintings and custom commissions, where charts, symbols, and celestial cycles become color and line. It shapes The Trauma-Informed Lens, her card deck that gives each principle of trauma-informed design its own visual, in the tradition of tarot. And it stays with her in the design studio, where every wellness space she builds is founded on the concepts and ideas found throughout astrology.
